It has worked fine until recently - now, I have no sound from the on-board speakers, as the original poster also claims.Plug-in headphones, plug-in external speakers, and Bluetooth headphones work fine, but when none of those are connected there should be sound from the on-board speakers - there is no sound.I then reinstalled Windows (Settings - General - option for factory reset) - no effect.
![]() The speakers (Intel SST Audio Device WDM) are set as the default device and, at this time, there are no other playback devices listed. The volume icon does NOT have a red X on it, and the on-board speakers are being shown as the playback device. Results: A diagnostic category was specified and the applicable device does not exist. Well, thats bogus because the audio works fine through any plug-in headphonesspeakers or Bluetooth. I ran a full system scan: CPU, System Memory, Video Card, Hard Drive, Battery, PCI Bus, and System Board - all passed. As you can see, a full system scan does not scan for audio issues. Thats only available in the Component or Symptom scan which says the device does not exist. I have also downloaded and reinstalled the Intel Driver Pack with no effect. Speakers Intel Sst Audio Device Wdm Driver Issue SinceThis appears to be a hardware issue rather than a softwaredriver issue since the audio works fine with headphones or speakers. My BIOS is version A03 - would version A04 fix this problem Its not listed under Filtered driver results for your service tag but is listed under All related drivers for your Product. In case other ppl havent noticed go to your sound settings and put your default output device on SPEAKERS SST and you should hear sound again. ![]() Speakers Intel Sst Audio Device Wdm Windows 8.1 Having JustI have just upgraded to Windows 8.1 having just purchased the Latitude 10 ST2. I have also tried to update drivers (not that I can remember how) and none were required.
